1. About these terms
UrbanGate is provided by DarkHorse Link Private Limited, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India ("UrbanGate", "we", "us"). "You" means the person using UrbanGate. The Privacy Policy is part of these terms.
2. What UrbanGate is
UrbanGate is software that helps a residential society manage visitors, gate security, alerts, guard tasks, maintenance records, notices, polls and requests. It has an app for residents and guards and a web panel for the society office.
UrbanGate is a tool. It does not replace security guards, police, fire services, medical help or the judgement of your society's committee.
3. Accounts and sign-in
- You sign in with your mobile number and a one-time code. You must use your own number and keep your phone secure.
- Access to a society is given or approved by that society's office. You may not pretend to be someone else or join a society you do not belong to.
- You are responsible for what is done from your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else is using it.
- Give accurate details and keep them up to date.
4. The society's responsibilities
Each society decides who lives there, who may enter, who is a guard or a committee member and what is billed. The society office is responsible for:
- adding and approving only genuine residents, guards and staff, and removing people who have left;
- giving committee members only the permissions they need;
- the accuracy of maintenance amounts, approvals, expenses and receipts it enters;
- telling its residents and guards how it uses UrbanGate, and having the right to collect their data.
5. Visitors, SOS and guard tasks
- Alerts depend on your phone, its settings, its battery saver and the network. We work hard to deliver them quickly, but we cannot guarantee that every alert will arrive or arrive on time.
- Residents and guards must keep notifications, full-screen alerts and display over other apps switched on and keep the app up to date.
- In an emergency, call 112 or your local emergency service. Do not rely on UrbanGate alone.
- A resident's approval of a visitor is the resident's decision. The society and its guards remain responsible for gate security.
- Guard tasks are reminders. They do not make UrbanGate responsible for whether a task is actually carried out.
6. Maintenance records
- UrbanGate records maintenance bills and payments. It is not a payment gateway, bank or wallet and does not move money.
- An owner reports a cash or UPI payment made outside UrbanGate. It counts only when the society office approves it, and the office may reject it.
- Receipts are produced from what the society has recorded. Disputes about amounts or payments are between the owner and the society.
- A wrong entry is corrected by a reversal, not by deleting it, so that the record stays complete.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- raise a false SOS or false alarms, or misuse visitor, notice, poll or helpdesk features;
- enter someone else's details, photos or records without a right to do so;
- try to access another society's data, or data your role does not allow;
- copy, reverse-engineer, scrape or disrupt the service, or try to get around its security;
- upload anything unlawful, harmful, abusive or that infringes another person's rights;
- use UrbanGate to harass, track or profile a person.
8. Your content

Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount paid to us for the service by your society in the three months before the claim arose.
